Recently LTD decided to take a day in Charlotte, North Carolina to enjoy something local: St. Patrick's day celebrations. a visit to the Mint Museum and visits with some of our most cherished friends. The thing that we discovered at the end of our day? Sometimes you don't need to go far away to experience meaningful travel!
From early vases, to his mid career teapots, and ending with his work in clay, bronze and glass, the exhibit is exhilarating.
The final leafy branches seen were especially meaningful, not only because they reflect the beautiful North Carolina Landscape and the cycle of life, but also because the most intricate piece will end up in the Smithsonian after the Mint Museum Exhibition.
While still seeing the St. Patrick's Day festivities in Downtown Charlotte from the windows of the museum, we decided to visit the rest of the museum before heading off to visit with friends.

Remember that any time together with your children makes memories for them. There is not a closer bond than the child parent relationship, and besides the gift of time, a visit to a museum can be educational too!
If your child is very young consider art, architecture or nature as a way to stimulate visual and even language development. Take time to describe the colors and shapes of what you see. You are really a child's first teacher and take advantage of the opportunity. At the Mint Museum Uptown, check out ART Packs from the Front Desk and go on an in-depth exploration of a selected artwork in the galleries. Several themes are available. These are designed for children 5+ and their adults to use together.
The final part of our journey to share TIME was to visit friends who we have not seen in some time. Especially meaningful was seeing Isaac Luski who is in mourning after the loss of his dear wife Sonia. During our final visit of the day, not only did we view some fabulous art pieces that are in his private collection, but we also shared memories of longtime friends and a loving marriage that lasted 67 years. For our next visit with Isaac, he will take us to the SONIA AND ISAAC LUSKI GALLERY at the Foundation for the Carolinas.
