Located in downtown Raleigh Durham, The Aloft Raleigh, a Bonvoy Hotel, fosters a unique social experience with open floor plans, premier business and leisure amenities and the breathtaking surroundings of North Carolina State University (NCSU).
1. Location
This location is super being directly adjacent to the North Carolina State University in Raleigh. There is plenty of shopping nearby, restaurants, grocery stores, and areas to walk or jog. If you are visiting the North Carolina State University campus for any reason this is an optimal place to stay. NOTE: There are multiple Aloft Hotels located in Raleigh, this is located downtown.
2. Check-in

3. Rooms
We were upgraded to a suite. This room has more than adequate space for the luggage that we carried. Aloft has very modern amenities and if you are used to a more traditional style than this may not be the hotel for you.
The bed was very comfortable with good pillows to match the size of the bed. However, we found the room to be exceptionally cold despite adjusting the temperature on the thermostat. This required us to use the linens from the second bed to stay warm.
In room bottled water, coffee and tea are provided and are also available in the lobby in the morning. An in-room safe is available.
The view from our room was the NC State Memorial Belltower which would ring throughout the day and was quite endearing! The rooms were quiet and refrigerators are present in the room amenities should you need it!
4. Bathrooms
The bathrooms are well thought out at the a loft at Raleigh North Carolina. There is more than enough vanity space for travelers and the closet area is located within the bathroom.
This makes for dressing convenient. The shower and commode are separate and there is a frosted window in the shower giving you additional lighting in the shower.
As is the case with all aloft hotels Bliss products are provided and dispensers for body wash and shampoo/conditioner are provided on the walls of the shower. There is one bar soap provided. The showers do not have a great deal of space to use your own toiletries. We suggest more shelving.
5. Fitness
We love these high-waisted yoga pants for travel comfort and to meet your workout needs when you're on the road. They have a hidden waist pocket to stash important items also! Click the photo below to learn more or purchase at Amazon!
There is a small but adequate fitness room provided on site and a small pool is located outside.
Certainly the area surrounding the hotel is safe for walking or jogging. Bicycles are available for use as well.
6. Dining
This Aloft has only the quick grab refuel by an on-site chef and not a formal dining option.
There is a large bar with a lovely seating area and terrace overlooking the NC State Memorial Bell and campus.
Patrons were enjoying the terrace during our stay because of the amazing North Carolina weather. There are many restaurants nearby within walking distance and Uber is convenient for Raleigh if walking is not an option.

We recommend this hotel for any visit to Raleigh except for a quick stay at the airport. It is located directly at the NC State University campus, and has everything you will need: nice quiet rooms, a large bathroom, fitness opportunities, a great bar with excellent cocktails and a small choice of tasty, freshly prepared meals by wonderful local chefs if needed or a choice of restaurants nearby for dining. Always remember to look if there are any American Express Offers available to reduce the cost of your stay, and if you have not signed up for complimentary Gold Elite Status with AMEX Platinum, call them to do it!
