Embark in Style: A Comprehensive Review of the Duravo Venture Full Backpack — The Ultimate Travel Companion for Personal Item Travel

Welcome back to Luxury Travel Docs! Before we delve into today's exploration, we want to remind you that all proceeds from our page go to charity. Your support, whether it's a thumbs up, a comment, or a subscription, makes a significant impact. Now, let's embark on a journey through Duravo's latest addition to their collection: the Venture Full Backpack.

In a recent review, we delved into Duravo's International Expandable Carry-On, expressing our genuine appreciation for its design and functionality. Our enthusiasm reached the ears of the founders, Eric and Matt, prompting us to take a closer look at its companion — the Venture Full Backpack.

The Duravo Story: Where Travel Meets Engineering

Eric and Matt, the visionaries behind Duravo, blend their passion for travel with backgrounds in engineering and business. After years of development and numerous design iterations, they introduced the Duravo brand. What sets them apart is their innovative use of a German-developed polymer called Curve in luggage construction.

This unique polymer, known as Flex Shell in Duravo's world, boasts durability, toughness, and lightness. It's been employed in various applications, from pro sports to military gear. The final composite material, Flex Shell, contributes to Duravo's claim of having the lightest luggage in its class.

Unboxing Duravo's Venture Full Backpack

Our initial impression of the backpack was a mix of admiration for its aesthetics and confidence in its sturdiness. The Flex Shell material is visibly present on the front and back panels, corners, and underside, while the rest of the exterior is crafted from a lightweight and robust nylon fabric.

Measuring approximately 18.5 x 12.5 x 8 inches, the Venture Full Backpack offers around 25L of space, meeting personal item specifications for various airlines. A top leather handle, expandable side mesh pocket, and adjustable chest strap enhance its functionality. The inclusion of a trolley sleeve and padded back adds to the convenience and comfort of carrying this backpack.

Unveiling the Interior: Slim vs. Full

Duravo offers two sizes for their backpacks: the Venture Slim and the Venture Full. Opting for the Full variant, we discovered its standout feature — a discrete Side Access pocket capable of accommodating a 17-inch laptop, protected by Flex Shell.

The main compartments are thoughtfully designed, featuring pockets for various essentials. The front compartment, covered in Flex Shell, houses dedicated pockets for an air tag, phones, glasses, passports, business cards, pens, and keys. The middle compartment, exclusive to the Full size, offers two large elastic stash pockets for cables, shoes, or other items.

The Packing Experience: A 4-Day Trip

For our 4-day trip to Washington DC, coinciding with the Marine Corps Marathon, we paired the Venture Full Backpack with Duravo's International Expandable Carry-On. Packing was a breeze, with compartments for a 15-inch MacBook, power bank, tablet, clothing, shoes, toiletries, and more. The backpack's functionality shone through as it easily attached to the carry-on, making our travel seamless. You can see this in action in our video review:

Minor Quibbles and Fixes

While our review is overwhelmingly positive, we must mention a few minor points. Suggestions include incorporating a whistle in the chest strap buckle for safety, adding exterior elastic loops, and refining the key holder design. Duravo demonstrated their commitment to excellence by promptly addressing an issue with the back panel, showcasing their dedication to customer satisfaction.

The Comparison: How Does Duravo Stack Up?

In the realm of luxury backpacks, Duravo competes with industry giants like Monos, Away, and Tumi. While Monos and Away offer similar price points, Duravo's Venture Full Backpack stands out with its added features, such as the discrete laptop pocket and the innovative use of Flex Shell.

Tumi, known for its premium quality, often comes with a significantly higher price tag. Duravo, however, offers a comparable level of elegance and functionality at a more reasonable cost.

The Investment: Is It Worth It?

With a price tag of $275, some might find it steep, but we believe the quality and functionality justify the cost. Duravo occasionally offers promotions, and at the time of our review, a 25% discount was available using the code "MEETDURAVO." In comparison to other luxury backpack brands, Duravo stands out for its elegance, functionality, and reasonable pricing.

In conclusion, we wholeheartedly recommend the Duravo Venture Full Backpack. It's a luxurious, functional, and visually appealing companion for your travels. As always, make meaningful and healthy travel happen. We hope you enjoyed our in-depth review, and stay tuned for more adventures with Luxury Travel Docs!
